What subjects did Mr. Chips teach at the Brook-field Public School ? How did he teach them ?

Answer :-

Mr. Chips taught Latin, Greek and Roman history to different classes at Brook-field. He taught them the details of Latin grammar and its sentence construction. He taught the old pronunciation of Latin words. His lectures on Latin and Roman history were very interesting, but in his own old style. He also taught European and African history to some classes. He took special interest in history, language and grammar.

Who were Colly the junior and Colly the senior ?

Answer :-

Colly the senior was Mr. Chips student at the time when Chips joined Brook-field around 1870. He became an alderman of London ( senior member of the city council ) and held other high offices. Colly the junior was his son, who studied under Chips twenty-five years later. Colly the senior had dropped a desk lid in his first class and then was punished for it. But the Colly-s were red-Haired
